This is my first experience at Mexican food in OK so was not sure what to expect. I usually judge Mexican places by a couple of things. The Salsa, the seasoning of the Meat and the Beans. We didn't have to wait for a table and the place was very busy as there was not many places open. Our waiter was good and pleasant. The Chips and Salsa came out with our drinks. The Salsa wad not really that good. I doctored it with a little Salt and jarred Hot Sauce. This made it OK. We ordered a cheese dip and this was OK but not great. My wife had Fajitas that were served on the obligatory cast iron pan on a wooden base. There was no sizzle to the plate at all. The cast iron was hot but I could touch it for a couple of seconds with my finger. She said the Fajitas were OK but not great. I had a Burrito with shredded beef. The Burrito was OK, not bad but not great. The beans were just OK as well. I usually get Chara Beans when I can but I really like good Refried Beans as well. Good to me is when the use Lard/Manteca to refry them. This really adds good flavor. I guess it all boils Dow to an OK place with OK food. I don't hate the place but won't be back. I may just be spoiled by really good TexMex or Baja Mexican eats. This place may be really good for the area. If you just have to have Mexican and this is your only choice it will do but that is the best compliment I could give.

Next to El Patio in Ponca City Oklahoma this is the best Mexican I've had. Everyone here is so friendly! Service is outstanding! Queso and salsa are spicy and good. Try the Chimichanga Quatas or the fajita nachos. Priced right. Give it a try. Btw I am not from here or even near here just drive by it one Friday and it was packed so we thought that must be good tried it and it was good!!

I would leave negative stars if I could. The food here is disgusting. And the restaurant is dirty. Do yourself a favor and go a half mile down the road to Tio's.

Good meal and service. They have a bar. Their chips, salsa, and queso need major improvement.

¡Es muy ruido! (It's louder than hell!) The service was prompt! We got our salsa (You have to ask for Queso) and chips the moment we sat down. The large chunks of onion and tomato mean it is fresh on site...perhaps too fresh, as the flavors weren't there/developed. The waiter approached within a reasonable window of time, and the order was accurate. The food, we both ordered from the combo menu, I had #7 Enchilada, Rellenos, Arroz, y frijoles (Enchilada, Chiles Rellenos, Rice, Refried beans.) The plate was attractive [see photo] and food was quite good ( rice was a bit dry ) and arrived somewhat swiftly considering the number of diners; but, Not before getting a chance to hear how loud the room really was! This could really get higher points, if they invested in sound-deadening techniques. As it stands, I only go occasionally...as when deciding which Mexican Food restaurant, the subject of noise comes up...

Just a seasonal traveler and always look forward to dinner here. I love the shrimp salad... Use the salsa for dressing. So good. I also love the ceviche. Its on the back of the menu so it's often missed. Delicious. Try it on chia instead of the crackers. Best restaurant in Pauls Valley in my opinion!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
